Kenny G is the Weird Al of smooth jazz

On our way to the benefit show on Sunday in Manhattan we heard Mr. G slobber his adult contemporary alto sax all over a version of James Blunt’s “You’re Beautiful” on the radio. Kenny covers today’s hits and simply solos over the entire track sans vocal. All the while I have this odd mental image embedded of him in a completely candle-lit room with a black turtleneck and his eyes closed as he passionately interprets 50 Cent’s “In Da Club.”
